Drug Awareness Group Program Evaluation Paper Part 1 Drug and substance abuse is a considered as the patterned consumption of a substance where the consumers the substance is consumed in quantities or methods that are detrimental to themselves or others. Thise behavior can be learned from the people a person is near or exposed to. People living in neighborhoods that have cases of drug and substance use are more vulnerable to drug and substance use as compared to those living in neighborhoods without drugs and substance use. Thise behavior can also be inherited from families, such as in this situation. Families with a routine of being exposed to drugs and substance use have an effect on the people they live with, and where they may attract them to drug and substance use. Therefore, the creation of a drug and substance use program will be used as a way in which the community and the schools within the community will be sensitized. Program Description The establishment of the program was motivated by the fact the drugs and substance abuse in the school were increasing at a worrying speed. Due to the conditions existing in the school, where drug peddlers had found a ready and willing market for their products. Iit was paramount that somebody had to stand up against the vices encroaching the school. Having some students who were well conversant with peer counseling, it was decided to start a drug awareness program which will have a group with seven members (Gastil, 2010). The program will group wanted at least fourteen members who would join in the venture after getting some training.

Goals and Objectives of the Program The programs main intention was to sensitize the school and community at large with the dangers that are associated with drug and substance use in their lives. It would also ensure a drug and substance free society by reporting the drug peddlers to the police and the sheriff’s office. who are also stakeholders where they would be arrested. The program will be given a name as against drug and substance use within the community. Dealing with drugs involves cutting the supply source then making the people using, or even intending to use, know the effects of such behaviors. The sheriff’s department will be responsible for making arrests offor the suppliers and those making the drugs. For those people who are already addicted, they will be taken to rehabilitation centers to ensure that they heal in an effective way. Steps and Phases of the Program The main steps that the program will be take to register members and also raise funds for training where the willing members will be trained and given appropriate information on the best to work and pass information to other community members. The trained persons will be allocated in leadership roles so as they can be a form of management and leadership. This will be helpeful since the program will involve a huge number of people within the community who will be given different duties. Due to the big numbers, it was decided to allocate some people the responsibilities to lead the group since everybody’s responsibility is nobody’s responsibility. An election will be held in which it willas decided that there we shall have should be a president and a vice president. , Tthe president position was taken by a lady while the vice president was a gentleman. Other positions were the organization secretary, the secretary, the treasurer and the group communication in charge. The communications person in the charge office will be tasked with updating and providing information on drug awareness oin the group website and social media platforms. To ensure effective availability of finances required for various activities within the program, a drug awareness walk in the school and the neighboring society will be carried out. Every member willing to participate in the walk would pay a participation fee. The walk will be attended by a large number of people who will contribute their finances towards the movement. Additionally, the set steps will be rolled out through monitoring the steps and making sure that they will be well followed (Davis, & Arend, 2013). In a situation where the walk will not raise the required amount of money, a run to eradicate drugs will be carried out where professional athletes will be invited to ensure a huge crloud will register. Stakeholders within the Program The program will work with the local phone company to establish a hotline where people can call the police for free to get the required fee. It is clear that people do not like going to the police stations to report as they will be seen by others and branded snitches. However when one calls the police they will remain anonymous to encourage reporting of drug peddlers within the community After getting the finances, the team will be ready with the required tools. , Iit will then hold a school-wide drug awareness seminar that will be approved by the school administration. Pamphlets and flyers are to be printed for which will then be distributioned to the students. Registered professional peer counceilors will also be invited who to talk to the students about the importance of abstaining from drugs. and tThe dangers involved in drug and substance abuse will also be discussed. With the help of the school administration, the group was given a room in the administration block that was to be for the group office. The group will be made to observe the set rules where they will be required to be active in the contributions of the group. Since some students are also used in selling the drugs as brokers, it makesing it hard to identify the peddlers. It will be important to involve the members of the community in the community policing where in a situations where a student is found distributing the drugs. they should call the A relevant authority should be called (Nutt, & Wilson, 2010). For effective and efficient communication among the group members, the use of the social mediamber benefited the group members since it will be more and much easier to hold online discussion discussions in the online chat rooms. Every member will be required to login and see what other members suggested. This will be an effective method of reaching timely decisions paramount to the group (Nutt, & Wilson, 2010). Data Related To the Program Data related to the program will be tracked through the sheriff’s department that has data on drug and substance use within the community. The data will show whether the program has been instrumental in reducing or increasing the rate of drug use within the society. Additionally, teachers and the high school management in the community will provide their opinion on the turn of events from witnesses offrom the students. The program will also set up community games such as football,; soccer, and basketball to make sure the youth who are more venerable vulnerable to drug and substance abuse are kept busy. Busy persons are less likely to be involved in such vices. The number of games and people attending to watch the games can be used to identify the changes made by the program

Program Evaluation Plan Part 2 Within the program development plan, there are various activities that are carried out to ensure that the program will be effective and also result in good and accurate dependable results. Among the activates carried out include the needs assessment, an evaluation of the plan and the type of data that should be used. This gives the planner a layout and a general summary of the evaluation since the most likely expectations are established within the study. The Importance of a Needs Assessment This is a useful systematic process that is commonly used in addressing the gaps that might exist between the present conditions and the anticipated wants. The inconsistency between the current condition and the wanted condition should be measured through identification of need. Before any program is started the needs assessment should be the first activities where the planner should know the what, why, who, when and how the program should be undertaken (Spaulding, 2014). The needs assessment is vital to any plan since it helps in establishing the desired job performance. With the need assessment, the destination is known making the company or the organisation move to a given definite direction that is well known to others. Through the knowledge of need, one can make the appropriate changes and strategies in making certain the plan will move in the most desired way. The members of the workforce need to be adjusted to fit the required standards this can only be done through determining the shortfalls that may exist within the plan which is done through the need assessment procedure. What is the main reason for the program, within the context the expected achievement that the program will have if it is undertaken. The planner should also establish where the program is necessary and, if necessary, is there a way in which it can be made to be more inclusive for better results (Wood, et al., 2013). The current and desired job performance should be established in the organisation the gap should be noted and the main reason that is behind the established gap also identified. Through the need assessment is it possible to identify the individuals that require training within the organisation other skills, competencies required within the organisation should also be identified. This helps in making certain that the plan is overall represented. Every plan has a goals and objective, through need assessment. It is possible to determine whether the goals are achievable or not. It is advisable to place the goals and ensure that every member of the organisation is aware of the goals that have been established. This creates a feeling of togetherness and teamwork spirit is more elevated (Spaulding, 2014). The most appropriate time for the program should be assessed since the time to roll out the program should be when the program has the most significant impact on the intended recipient of the program. The people under the program should also be identified and their reason to be in the program also established. This is used in making sure that there are no joy riders within the program with no any intention of using the skills provided. (Workshop on Evaluation Methods for Large-Scale, 2014). The Role of Needs Assessment The needs assessment activity is used in evaluating the gap here the available skills within the process are established. The world is growing at a faster rate where technology is dynamic. It is important to ensure that the program moves to the world. This is done by ensuring that the required skills are always integrated with the organisation processes. Skilled personal are accountable since they are qualified and has the drive in carrying out their duties in an organisational context. This is determined through need assessment, when the operations needs can be satisfied by the employee and workforce skills then the needs is said and considered satisfied. On the other hand, of the need is not satisfied then it is the obligation of the organisation or the evaluation overseers to ensure that the skill is bought of hired from the market (Wood, et al., 2013). Through bringing the skills to the plan, it will be more efficient for the firm to achieve its goal in making certain that the objectives are well accomplished. The unnecessary cost that could have been incurred during the extra hiring of employees is eliminated hence saving the plans allocated finances. The assessment also helps in the facilitation of both short and long-term planning processes that are needed for effective leadership. The plan has goals which are categorised as short and long term goals. This implies that the ability to satisfy such goals is through making certain that they are well set and known by every member of the organisation. The assessment also helps in setting goals in an achievable state. Setting goals so low makes the employees be under motivated since there is no challenge that they as faced with. On the other hand, setting the goals so high in a way that it will be difficult to achieve them makes the organisation loose more as the employees will have low morale since they are aware even if they worked shard the target will never be within the rich (Wood, et al., 2013). Planning is considered as the best way in which any program should start; it helps in making certain that the program will not deviate from the intended scope in which it should cover. The evaluation needs are then distributed within the various bodies and departments contained in the program. Leadership flexibility is achieved since the workforce does not need to flow all along or the manager does not need to look over their shoulders when they are working due to the already cultivated self-drive within the organisation (Workshop on Evaluation Methods for Large-Scale, 2014). The needs assessment may also be used in developing a program standard for formative evaluation. The needs assessment process helps in the utilization of the principals of organisation development which includes that levels of individuals that are found within the organisation and developing the congruency found between individuals and the organisational needs and goals. The Appropriate Evaluation Design The most appropriate evaluation design that will be used in this evaluation is the experimental design. The design is mainly involved in the evaluation through the use of the available elements. The elements are then passed on a model program, and the results and observed. This helps in providing an impression on how the real outcome will be. The outcome can be estimated through the use of the design as it relays on the already established phenomenon. Therefore, the experimental design is the most appropriate for the development of the program (Spaulding, 2014). Data Collection Sources The program will use the quantitative method of collecting data. Data will be collected from the respondents through the drop and pick closed-ended questionnaire that will be distributed to the major respondents. The sources will provide information on how the program has been of help to the received and the impact it has created on their side. Additionally, it will also note the setbacks within the program that the respondent feel that they should be attended to. Lastly, the data will also have recommendations that the respondent feels they should be done to improve the nature of the program hence making it more comprehensive (Workshop on Evaluation Methods for Large-Scale, 2014).   References Spaulding, D.
