business communication at Oscoda County Community College
This assignment has 2 parts. Part 1 will be completed in Unit 3 and Part 2 will be completed in Unit 5. The scenario will stay the same for both assignments. You
and your colleagues, who teach business communication at Oscoda County
Community College, are interested in setting up a business writer's
hotline (a telephone and e-mail service) that will provide answers to
grammar, mechanics, and format questions for people who call in or
write. You see it as a way of providing a much-needed service to local
businesspeople as well as a way of providing positive public relations
for your institution. Each faculty member is willing to donate time to
answer the phones and e-mails, but you will need funds for telephone
lines, answering machines, reference books, advertising, and more. You
decide to apply for a grant from the H. M. Luce Foundation to fund the
project for 1 year. After that, if the hotline is successful, you will
either reapply for funds or ask Oscoda County Community College
administration to fund the continuing costs. For requests less than
$3,000, the foundation requests a simple narrative report explaining and
justifying the request.Part 1 (2 pages):In your paper, answer the following information-gathering questions:

Los Angeles Times about a new generation of shock advertising.
We have had a successful course full of readings
and discussions. Now it is time to apply your learning to an article in
the media and to share it with the class in the form of a discussion.
First, look in reputable publications for an article that addresses any issue from the course. For example, find an article in the New York Times about the portrayal of race in the media; or an article in the Los Angeles Times about a new generation of shock advertising.
Bring this article to the table, so to speak, in the form of a discussion by summarizing your article, its contents, views, and relevance to this class. If the article is available online, be sure to include a link to the article. If not, cite the source.

Theories and Practice of Effective Change Implementation Reflect on this statement from your textbook: “Telling employees why they need to change will not build motivation to change; it is necessary, but not sufficient” (Spector, 2013, p. 28). For this discussion, write a response to the following questions: Discuss a change that an organization you are familiar with has gone through. Think about the process for how that change occurred. Was it successful? How would you implement change using Kurt Lewin’s Change Theory in regard to that change? Kurt Lewin theorized a three-stage model of change that is known as the unfreezing-change-refreeze model that requires prior learning to be rejected and replaced. His theory states that behavior is defined as "a dynamic balance of forces working in opposing directions
